Our Mini Spring Break

This weekend David and I had the opportunity to go to General Conference down in Salt Lake City!
We met up with Jeremy and Becca--a congrats are in order for the newly engaged couple!!!
And also our friends Kyle and Megan who live in Sacramento as well.
It was such a fun and quick weekend!

Here is our sweet hotel room. Dave and I shared with Jeremy and Becca at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Also. 24/7 access to the pool and spa - best thing ever...

Just a little quick shot. Happy, happy! :)
We ended up going to dinner at Chilis because we couldn't agree upon anything. Plus our GPS needs to be updated as far as maps and locations...we tried to go to a non-existant Hard Rock Cafe...ugh.

This is us in front of the City Creek Mall. That place is amazing. They have Cheesecake Factory, Love Culture and a Pandora store. Those 3 things win me over right there. We only walked around a fraction of the mall, but I am amazed. It is so pretty! It has fountains, cool architecture, ponds, and sweet stones. Pretty, pretty.

We went to the Hunger Games in the Gateway mall. It was such a good movie! I want to read the books now, I heard they are better. Well, we got out of our movie at midnight, and on our travels to the car, these two were lingering behind us and were engaged by the time we got there! :) CONGRATS!!

Here are us girls after our swim party! It was so much fun :) I love swimming and spa-ing it up!

These are some of our awesome friends, Kyle and Megan. She's originally from Canada and they gave us some candy and chips from there...the candy is good. I have yet to hit the chips. They were married last year and both served in SLC actually!!

These are the crazy boys...haha best friends obvi.

The group :)

We had Chilis chips and salsa in the morning. Breakfast of champions.

David and I went to Conference this afternoon. These are our tickets. :)
And here we are in front of a waterfall that comes down the whole building.

Inside the conference center! TONS of people. It was sweet. Hardly any open seats either.
It was so cool when the prophet walked in too. The spirit was so strong, and everyone stood up and was silent.
It is definitely different than watching it on TV. I would go again for sure!

Here's a cool picture of the temple, and some more of downtown salt lake.
Such a good weekend. That was our spring break. :)

March Madness

This month has been so great! We have been able to see both of our families! (Well partially...) but some is better than none! We saw my family first - Mom, Austin, and Melissa. They came out from California for President's Week. We had a lot of fun going around town, to Pepperidge Farm, bowling, shopping, hanging out at the house, and snowboarding at Beaver Mountain. I don't have too many pictures, or lets say good ones... But here's a few.

Cute little Austy.                            Here we are bowling.                            Tired Mommy.

This was their first time snowboarding, and it didn't end too well for poor Melissa. She broke her wrist, but she's a tough one! Atleast she tried--she says that was the first and last time she'd go boarding. Don't blame her. Austin took some pretty big spills too but he did awesome.

We got to see David's side of the family as well! (Mom, Dad, Chloe, and Whit) They came all the way from Iowa and we were so so happy! (Well Whit lives in Salt Lake City) Literally haven't seen them since our wedding in July. It was definitely about time. And with them coming we also hung out with Jen and Ken, Shauntell, and two of her kids too! It was a short visit but such a good one. We played lots of games, talked, shopped a bit, and went shooting! It was so much fun. We definitely want our own guns now.
<<<< And here's our target. hehe The girls were having a hard time with it. ;)

Here's Shauny, Jenny, and Shannon.                               And such a cute picture of Mom and Chloe!

This gun was so heavy! I couldn't even aim it! Just shot it. But I know I hit some snow. :)

And dang my hubby is good looking. I'm a lucky gal.

Pops in Law. He's the gun-man.

We have had such a great time being able to spend time with our families.
And wish it could be longer.
So that's what's been going on over here. <3 D&B

Happy Late Valentine's Day!

Well I have been a little bit behind on this, but whats new. Let's see. Lots of things we've been doing. And as usual, pictures are the best! Here are some for you to see. :)

So remember when our fridge just died? Here is the old one....

And here is the NEW one!!!

So much better!! We are so glad to have real shelves and what seems like more space just because of the way they are organized. Yay for new fridges! Anddddd we changed our plates. How sad. :(
Utah plates are so ugly.

Yay for Valentines Day! First one together being married! <3 Loved the flowers. He also got me a practical gift of a full length mirror! So grateful. I can see my entire outfits now! And I got David some moccasins, and he loves them! I love practical valentines days. They are so nice.
And of course chocolate never hurt either.

So here is the update on the table too! We have been some pretty big slackers on it. Well, mainly me...whoops!
This is what it looked like to begin with.
And then the sanding process. (I WAS SUCH A HELP). Love Doritos...

And now the finished product! :)
Well. I still need to reupholster the chairs, but other than that I think its much better!!! Wahoo!

So I got that cute mirror at D.I. for $8!! What a steal. I need to clean it and paint it.
We are thinking to put it in the dining room. (which has blank walls...ha) So we need to choose colors.
Any ideas? I was thinking maybe some teal for the mirror, but I don't know. I'm not the best at that stuff.
And that square thing I need to iron...I made it for our bedroom. Its a cute version of a tack-board!
So it has upholstery nails and a green burlap over the cork-board. Way cute.
Now I'm waiting for my 200 pictures I ordered...ha!

This is what we look like in case you forgot. :)
And below is David being silly. I love his cute little faces.

Well my Mom, brother and cousin are coming to visit for about a week! So excited!
And then we will see David's parents a few weeks later! :)

:)

Let's make this short, sweet, and simple. Here are some pictures with a little description.

Before = Blah. Dave is cute though. :)

So we FINALLY got our bedroom set. We love it. Now our room looks sorta put together.
Next is lamps, pictures, curtains, ottoman thingy. In due time. No rush.

Well I got bored one day and took some pictures. There wasn't too much that was very pretty.
There wasn't snow on the ground-there was mush.
No flowers-they're dead.
The temple grounds were closed-so none of that.
I was cold anyway, so oh well. There are a few that I thought were decent.

I saw this hairstyle on youtube. Thought I'd try. It looks pretty cool. But that day I ran out of hairspray.
You can see a bobby pin falling out.
That was a long day at work I'll say. It was outta control!

This was a simple pinterest project I made another night when I was bored.
I found a frame at Goodwill for like a buck and just got a few things and voila. Cuteness.
It's for our little mini beach bathroom downstairs.

And on Sunday night, we realized our fridge was broken! It definitely must not have been working the whole day...(maybe even the day before) everything was pretty mushy in the freezer so we had to throw it all out and nothing was very cold in the fridge. I guess we are glad it isn't summer...So the fridge dude came and looked at it and it has been decided. We get a new fridge from our apts! At least we don't have to pay for it, but I kinda wonder what it will look like. Guess we'll find out. I just have high hopes its like stainless or something...yah right though. :)

So far in 2012

Life hasn't been too crazy so far. We have just been doing the normal stuff, just hangin' out and working. Getting new licenses, registering cars, looking for insurance. You know, the good stuff. We have started a project though! Kind of cool. Hopefully it works! We are trying to refinish our table. I got it from a co-worker and we figured we'd try it out. Why not?? So here's a few pictures.

The first in the series is the original table. The next is me munchin on some chippies while David sands it in the freezing cold. (He did make me do it too, though.) Then it is the sanded not so shiny product. And one layer of finish. We have another layer on it, but I don't have a picture. And we forgot a slight step. I don't know how much it really affects the table, but I guess we will find out. And David likes to lather that stuff on...nice and thick. I think a little too thick. So we'll see. ha Guess we really can't ruin it, so whatever happens, happens! We will also have to do part of the chairs. And then reupholster them.

I made this sign for our bedroom with my nifty cricut that I got for Christmas. I need some more fonts and styles now! :) Not sure how I feel about the yellow still...hm.

This stuff is amazing. Click this link for the recipe >>> YUMMY.
It is the easiest thing ever. And so good. Next time I will cut the potato chunks smaller just so it is easier to eat them. But other than that it is perfection in your mouth.

A few weeks ago we had game night at our house with our awesome neighbors. It was a good ol' time playing some settlers of catan and mario kart! Then at midnight (so it wasn't sunday anymore) we went to this little mexican restaurant right by our house. So we walked there in the freezing cold and pigged out. Good times.

I just want to say that I am so excited to see both sets of my parents! Yay! :)
(Well minus my dad--poor guy has to stay home and work.)
Good times are coming up and there is so much to be thankful for and so many reasons to be happy.
:)

The New Year.

Well we have made it to 2012. The past year has been a great one for us, the best yet in fact. :) Well anyways. We spent NYE down in salt lake. We did this last year as one of our first dates, so we wanted to kind of "relive it" or make it a tradition kinda, possibly. We'll do it when we can. How's that for a tradition. Ha. It was super fun. Anything we do together makes me happy. So we went down to Target, I know it may not seem like a big deal, but really it is! We are just too far....then we went to dinner at Red Robin, which we also don't have near us. We actually had a feast there. Almost couldn't walk after...haha. Oh man. Then we headed down to SLC and walked around the gateway, watched the water show that's there and tried to take a picture. It only took us probably 7 tries to get the water semi-shooting up. :) I don't know why I stick things in my pockets when we take pictures...YUCK.
Oh, and thanks for the gloves again Shan and Rod. :) Love them!

We walked around the temple grounds, looked at the lights, and just talked. We road on the little light-rail thing and that's fun in itself. People watching is just great! We also saw Whitney (David's sister) and talked with her for a little bit. We were going to go ice skating, but we were already freezing and just decided not to. So we headed home, saw lots of fireworks in the sky which was cool, rented a movie and I got a blue raspberry slurpee! My absolute favorite! Oh, we rented 'Warrior'. Go get it. It is amazing! Loved it. Annnd that was our date. Happy New Years!
