Our First Christmas

Well I haven't posted in what seems like ages. So lets review what has been happening in our life.
My friends Chelsea and Courtney were in Logan so we had a sleepover and hung out at the house and made cookies. We went to In-N-Out and I was so happy! I have been having withdrawals for a long time. (Sad? Maybe...but whatever.) We went down to Salt Lake to the mall and walked around the temple and saw the lights and took a tour of the Conference Center with the nicest woman on earth possibly. I wish I knew her name so I could send her a card or something! The next night we went to the hot springs which was fun. There was nobody there since it was a school night, so we had our own pool. :) Then we took Chelsea back to her aunt's house so she could be on her way home to Cali. It was definitely a good time. I love my friends <3

So this is what Dave and I look like if we were both old men.
Good look huh?? hahaha Thank you iphone...creepy!

Isn't David's red curly hair so cute?!

So that was a fun weekend I must say! Also, we did get a washer and dryer! It finally got here a few weeks ago and we had a close call. The guys didn't think they were going to fit in our little laundry closet area thing. But I made them make sure it did. There was no way they were leaving with our washer and dryer! I was even willing to take the doors off, but thankfully we didn't have to do that :)

Dave did a good job and ordered them without me when I was sick in bed after black friday shopping. He's a good surpriser.

Here's a random picture of Dave at walmart, on the phone with his mom, with a dino helmet on.
No big deal. :)

So here's a funny story....

This is David at home on his 15 minute break because....he took a milk shower at work! He is a forklift driver at Gossner Foods which is a milk/cheese factory and he was stacking milk in the racks. He had a load with a couple pallets of milk and he apparently didn't quite line it up right and it all came down on him. He was soaking wet. Shoes. Socks. Pants. Shirt. Everything. The guys at work were laughing at him and were wishing they had some cereal to go with the milk ;) So I made him take this picture with me in his cute little uniform. He's so precious!

Here's a christmas picture. Not the same as the one we sent in the cards. Which by the way, I hand made which I probably won't do again, although it did keep me busy for a while! And also. Our prints sucked! So sorry about that people. Don't listen to Dave if he tells you to print 'matte' instead of 'glossy'. ;)

Here's me making our family's famous peanut brittle. It really hurts your arm.
And my grandma's cookies are on the microwave. Wow. Amazing. Thanks Gma!

My sweater looks kinda funny on my tummy cuz my phone was in my pocket. So don't be getting any crazy ideas--especially you Rodney! ;)

Well, Christmas was great. Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures on Christmas morning, so I am really pretty bummed about it, so I guess we'll try to remember next year. But, we had such a fun time together and also with our family here in town. We skyped a lot of family too, which was awesome! Skype is such a wonderful thing! We are so thankful for all the cards, photos, and gifts! So thank you everyone, it is great to get pictures and hear updates on lives other than our own. We are so blessed and happy and thankful! Lots of Love!

Christmas is Coming!

Well we had a great Thanksgiving this year. And black friday too. We had a nice dinner with some family and watched super 8 and just hung out. It was a nice day off I must say. Dinner was good. We are all kinda noobs at cooking thanksgiving dinner. It is definitely a learning process and we have a few things to "perfect" next year. The movie was good--well the parts I saw, not like I fell asleep or anything...ha. Typical me. My Mom always used to ask me if I was watching tv with my eyes closed and I'd wake up and say, "Uh...no." Black Friday was quite eventful. We went to target--45 minutes away--and the line was wrapped around the whole building almost! We were pretty surprised. It wasn't that bad last year in sacramento...there was even a "beat bus" in the front of the store playing some music that kept the crowd pretty happy until the police made it leave. Dang. It was pretty cool. We got inside and it was ok, busy-but not madness, security did a great job with the control. We got all of our christmas stuff! Tree, ornaments, etc. so I was pretty happy. Then. We both got sick. Lame, but oh well.

So we finally set up our tree! I am so excited for our first christmas together! Hopefully we can take some pictures and send some holiday cards soon. It is on my mind...

There's a few christmas-y pictures. My mom sent me her tripod in the mail, so I am very happy to have it. I am going to try to take our christmas card pictures with it. So we'll see...

Aren't these the cutest pillows ever?! I just love them. My wonderful Grandma Adam made them for us. She came and visited a while ago, and she thought she would make us some pillows for our living room couches to match our decor...well it doesn't help much when you change the colors. Whoops! When I opened the package I was so happy, and then I instantly thought, Crap...What can I do to fix this...haha! So I think I am going to make our guest room these colors. Problem solved. Sorry Grandma...apparently I shouldn't change my colors every week. I love them so much though! And Grandma. If you really want to, you can make us some green/cream/black ones. :) ha I have extra fabric if you happen to want a sample. Love you!

Sunsets and Ducks.

Our sink is now unclogged! YES. It is so good to be able to rinse off a plate without the sink filling up :) Also, our oven should be fixed now...we had a few horrific experiences with it...no joke. Ew. Fingers crossed! I drank a whole gallon of Sunny D by myself this past week. I don't know if that's a good thing? Oh well. David has the milk, I have the Sunny D. It just works. Um. What else...nothing much. The only thing I took pictures of was our adventure to this little stop along the side of the road on Sunday afternoon.

This little ducky was such a cute model :) My favorite one. They all came running to us when we walked out there but then they left because we didn't have bread. Next time we will!

The sunset was super pretty! I was having some problems with my camera...like my tripod is broken I found out. Bummer. And David somehow disconnected my lens...that was sketchy! Thankfully I caught it in my hand instead of the ground! Poor boy didn't want to touch the camera after that hah

He's a cutie.

I am so thankful for nature and its beauty. I also love the snow--its so pretty.
Can't wait for thanksgiving next week and family get-togethers.
Oh..black friday too! :)

SNOW

Well it finally snowed! It was pretty funny actually, I was talking on the phone with my mom, and she asked if it had snowed yet? I said no. Well about 45 minutes later, I got off the phone and checked my missed texts from David saying it was snowing! So I had to call my mom back and let her know that it had indeed snowed. :) So then of course I took a picture or two.

I love the snow right now. It is so pretty. I wake up every morning looking out the window to see if it snows. David informed me that it will not snow every night. Dang.

But, it is freeeeeezing outside. I did go running the other night and I forgot gloves. So that was painful. Took me a good while to defrost when I got home.

David and I also played racquetball again. We try to do it like once a week and we go with some friends that he works with. Well this past weeks trip wasn't so fun for him. He got smacked in the face with my racket. It really was a complete accident...poor guy... He says he still loves me.

The past week really wasn't too eventful for us. Just working and living. I use my heated blanket everyday. Probably the best money we've ever spent. ;) I also am contemplating on cutting my hair again. Even shorter...but I don't know yet. We'll see. Oh. I got bored so I took some pictures again.

There's some random pictures for you. I was driving around to find something to take pictures of and all that stacked wood caught my eye, so I stopped and walked around the area a little bit. :) D & B

Happy Halloween!

We went to a haunted corn maze on Saturday. It was actually really good.
I had been wanting to go ALL month, and that was David's only Saturday off so he took me.
We were chased by ppl with chainsaws, clowns, and other things.
I found corn bits down my pants that were thrown at me.
And I lost my little flashlight that I use to go running...twice a year. lol

My Hair is really poofy and gross because of the weather, but whatever. haha
It was a very fun date night. <3

Sunday we had a really yummy brunch. Dinner was quite the epic fail.
My oven needs to be fixed. Atleast that's what I blame it on.
But seriously, I don't think it works properly, so we called our apt manager.
It should be taken care of soon!

This morning we received a halloween package from my Mom!
We were so excited :) There's so much fun stuff! Thanks, Mom. <3
By the way - David loves when you send movies! He told me to tell you that.
I think it may be some sort of hint? hahaha he's so funny.

Here's our halloween picture. I am a pirate, you can't tell close up also I don't have my eye patch on...David is...David. Or we can just say an aeropostale model ;)
He has to work tonight, so he doesn't get to dress up with me :( so sad. Next year, maybe!

Here's me and Bob at work. We are pirates! I made sure that my costume was able to look normal by taking a few things off - just in case Bob didn't dress up hahaha. It was a lot of fun though! Bob used a ring measuring stick as a sword - we had to improvise!
That's about it <3 D & B

Crafty Crafts

I know I am a little bit late, but I forgot to take a picture of our new wreath, until now! (and I couldn't post without it) Mama Mayes made it for our door, and I love it!! It is so dang cute. She's so creative.

Lately I have been pretty bored and unproductive while David is at work all the time, so I decided to make these! It was a lot of fun actually and took up a fair amount of time. And money...ha whoops. It's worth it though! They look great. David helped me hang them on the wall too. I was pretty happy until one of them fell and broke the frame. ugh. But it is fixed now--hooray!

We got our love-seat! It's nice to have it in the room. Kinda makes it a smaller area...by a lot actually, but we would rather have some seats in the room for guests, rather than smashing on one couch or sitting on barstools. There is still room to get in and out of the barstools so it's nice. And in that blank spot on the wall I am thinking about painting a big clock and changing the shelves a little bit...I have a few ideas. I have some more crafts I want to make and do, including an end table and an awesome lamp! So we will see how that turns out--but it won't be anytime too soon! I am still brewing with some ideas of what to do with the ugly space. We'll see how it turns out, eventually.

We also started attending a new ward for the past 2 weeks now. Ahh...it is sooo much better. We love it. There are actually people our age. And people talk to us.
Best change ever! That's all :) D&B

Fam Bam Shizzam

This past week was pretty sweet. We got to see so much of our family on David's side. They are so much fun! We all came together for Matt & Sam's sealing and a luncheon afterwards. Good times for sure. I also had Pita Pit for the first time - thanks Teresa and Thomas! Here are some pictures.

Matt, Sam, Riley& Payton looking amazing!

Jenny and Kenny are unfortunately not pictured....since I stole their pictures. Apparently they don't take any of themselves!!

Also, I did some crafty little craft work--and it actually looks good! I am so happy :)

David took me to walmart, michaels, and the thrift store today. This is the outcome. :)
We also got lots of awesome christmas lights for like 6 bucks. DEALLLL.
I kinda like thrift stores sometimes. :)
Oh. And I do have a gnarly bruise from plasma. How nice.
That's it this time around! <3 D & B

Donuts Are Good.

We went on a little donut date this week.
It was swell. I love random little outings like that. :)
Not to mention delicious donuts (and cinnamon rolls).
I love wearing thermals too. Mine have little snowflakes!
So this past week it got pretty cold out here in Logan. Basically it went from 75 to 50 in like 2 days.
David and I were going to see how long we could go without using the heat in our house
First - because we went the whole summer without A/C.
Second - because we want to see how long we can last.
Third - because we don't know how much it costs.
Fourth - because we are poor and cheap.
So the first day it was cold...and then the second day came around and we turned it on. So we basically made it 2 days into the FALL season. haha I already know what I will be accepting for christmas/iloveyou presents...space heater, electric blanket, real winter coat, gloves, scarves, and more cute thermals. ;) I don't know how I am going to survive this winter, but it might be entertaining to other people, so you are welcome in advance! haha No really, I am excited for the first snow and making snowmen and maybe having snowball fights with our neighbors. Seems like it is coming soon!

Also this week Samantha and I went to give plasma.
It was quite the experience, for me atleast. I had a bad reaction, I was so nervous, I got really hot, sweaty, and sick. The poor workers were all running around getting me ice packs and whatnot! Pretty funny. My second time wasn't so bad except they poked me but went through my vein, so they had to poke my other arm...ugh. I think I will have a cool bruise though...

Sunday we had a wonderful dinner with Matt & Sam, Jenny & Kenny, and Sam's mom, plus the kiddos. It was so good! Ham, funeral potatoes, and rolls. Mmm. It was so nice to have everyone together! Felt like it was ages since that had happened!
Later that night Dave and I played some cards and bananagrams. It's so much fun when you win! ;) And if you haven't heard of bananagrams, you should check it out, cuz it rocks! It's like scrabble kinda, except everyone makes their own little board so its way more exciting!
We also got to see my brother Jeremy! It was a short trip for him, but we were glad he stopped by. We stayed up late talking and had breakfast in the morning and off he went. I love seeing family. <3
That's it for now! - D&B
